2025 MVP AWARD WINNER

CUTHBERTSON'S LOGAN JAMES

The 2025 UCHSBaesball.com's MVP is Cuthbertson’s junior Logan James. Logan hit .448 avg with 47 hits, scored 47 runs and drove in 27 runs with 8 doubles and smacked 3 HRs. A thief on the basepaths finishing the season with 25 steals. Went 3-for-3 with 4 runs scored in win over E. Meck. Went 3-for-9 with 4 runs and 3 RBI in series with Sun Valley.

Recorded 4 saves, a 3-0 record with 33 K’s and a 1.45 era in 24.2 innings for the Cavaliers. Logan was named 1st Team All-UCHSBaseball, The SCC Player of the Year and All-SCC while helping the Cavaliers to a 26-6 record and into the Final-4. Logan joins former Cavalier greats Thomas Paxton (’23) and John Mangum (’11) to be named the UCHSBaseball.com’s MVP. Congrats Logan!!

2025 CY YOUNG AWARD WINNER

WEDDINGTON'S MAX LUZARRAGA

The 2025 UCHSBaseball’s CY Young Winner is Weddington’s senior Max Luzarraga. Max anchored the Weddington pitching staff with 7 wins to just 1 loss this season. Led all of Union Co. with a 0.91 ERA while striking out 78 batters as a senior. Struck out a season high 12 hitters vs. C. Catholic. Struck out 9 and gave up just 2 hits, 0 runs in a 2-0 1st round playoff win over S. Meck.

Max was a beast at the plate hitting .418 with 38 hits, scored 25 runs, driving in 26 runs with 9 doubles, 2 HRs and swiped 11 bases for the Warriors. Luzarraga was named 1st Team All-UCHSBaseball, All-SCC and the SCC Pitcher of the Year while helping the Warriors to a 18-9 record and into the 2nd round of the state 4A playoffs. Max joins former Weddington greats Tyler Pilkington & Brent Watkins ('08), and Cooper McKeehan ('19) to be named the UCHSBaseball.com’s Cy Young winner. Congrats Max!!
