The 2026 UCHSBaesball.com's MVP Logan D'Amico

Logan hit .436 on the season finishing 3rd overall in Union Co. Led all of Union Co. in hits (43), runs scored (47), RBI (48) and home runs (13). Set Marvin Ridge School single season records for Runs (48), HRs (13) & RBI (48). Torched SCC pitching during the season by collecting 30 hits (.535 avg) with 10 HRs and 40 RBI in SCC games. Went 2-for-2 with 2 HRs, 4 runs and 4 RBI in 13-9 win over Sun Valley. Went 2-for-3 with 2 HRs, 3 runs and 6 RBI in a 12-4 win over Cuthbertson. Went 2-for-2 with 4 runs, 3 RBI and a HR in 21-11 win over Cuthbertson. Went 5-for-5 with 2 HRs, 6 RBI and 3 runs scored in 18-7 win over rival Weddington. Went 2-for-2 with 1 HR and 2 RBI in a 17-0 win over East Forsyth in the 2nd RD of the playoffs. Went 2-for-4 with HR in a deciding State Semi-Finals game 3 win over Hickory Ridge putting Marvin Ridge in the State Title series. Hit .321 with 11 runs, 5 RBI and 3 HRs in 9 playoff wins.

Logan was named 1st Team All-UCHSbaseball, as well as the SCC Player of the Year and All-SCC as a senior. Logan is headed to Wake Forest to continue his academic and baseball career this coming fall. Helped lead the Mavericks to a 24-11 overall record, 13-5 in the SCC BUT more importantly a 7A State Championship!

Logan joins former Maverick greats Alex Leshock (’16 & ’17), Max Wotell (‘15), Zach Kuchmaner (‘14), Shane Basen (’09) and Byron Haag (‘08) to be named the UCHSBaseball.com’s MVP. FUN FACT: Logan’s brother Tyler D’Amico was named the UCHSbaseball.com’s CY Younger winner in 2018. Congrats Logan!!

SUN VALLEY'S CONNOR SALERNO

The 2026 UCHSBaesball.com's Cy Young Sun Valley's Connor Salerno

Connor, a junior, was named SCC Pitcher of the Year and All-SCC. Led all of Union Co. with 90 strikeouts and a 1.53 ERA. Finished the season with a 5-2 record. Struck out 8+ hitters in a game 8 times including a season high 14 in a 10-0 win over Weddington. Struck out 8 Warriors in the 11-10 SCC Tournament win over Weddington. Gave up 0 hits in 4 innings, striking out 8 Mavericks in 12-2 win over Marvin Ridge. Struck out 13 Cougars in 5-4 loss to Charlotte Catholic. Struck out 10 Cougars in a 3-1 playoff loss to Charlotte Catholic.

Helped lead the Spartans to a 14-14 record and into the 2nd round of the state playoffs. He will be headed to Mississippi State after Sun Valley to continue his academic and baseball careers in the fall of 2027. Connor joins Sun Valley great Ian Hawk (’23) as the only two Spartans to win the UCHSBaseball.com’s CY Young award. Congrats Connor!!
